 | Le Château du Poiron, reconstruted in 1887, has origins dating back to the 14 th century. Lying outside of Pissotte in the department of the Vendee, the chateau sits in 25 acres of grounds.
The grounds adjoin the Mervent forest, a vast woodland with 200 km of marked pathways. In the forest is the mervant lake, an artificial lake held back by the mervant dam, where it is possible to rent pedalos, canoes or kayaks. The Poiron offers direct acces in to the forest from the grounds, which makes our location ideal, for walkers, hikers, mountain bikers and horse-riders |
Located adjacent to the chateau, with its own garden and swimming pool, our group gite can sleep up to 30 people. With a large lounge and dining area, coupled with a professionally-equipped kitchen, the gite is ideal for the following :
Group holidays, Family reunions, Coach parties, Wedding, Receptions, Business seminars.
Handicapped access
With a handicapped toilet and bathroom and easy access to the gite, we welcome handicapped associations to our domain. Here you will find a relaxing and enjoyable environment in which to enjoy your stay.

 | Bed and Breakfast rooms
Our 2 bed and breakfast rooms, each named after previous owners of the Poiron, offer style and comfort. Jean Dorin features a 16 foot high ceiling with exposed beams and oak flooring. Each room has a modern en-suite bathroom with shower, separate toilet and washbasin, and share a balcony with a table and chairs. A fridge and microwave oven are available for our guests in our rooms as are all our facilities, including the swimming pool. |
