| Originally a farming village, all that remains of Malgrat's former existence is an old centre with a church, small square, town hall and daily vegetable market. It is now a rather unattractive resort of generally charmless buildings and some industrial areas, measuring roughly 3 mls by 2 mls and sprawling SW along the sea front to merge with the modern tourist resort of Santa Susanna. Apart from a few beachfront hotels, most accommodation and amenities are separated from the beach by the railway and main road. | ||||
Beaches: Long stretch of coarse sand punctuated by small rocky outcrops, between which there are narrow, shelving bays. Pedestrian subways at long intervals allow access under the railway to the beach. Sunbeds, parasols and the usual water-sports offerings. |
