 | "Oakdale Farmhouse" is situated in the townland of Derries, 2km from Glenties. In Gaelic, the townland is known as Na Doirigh - which translates to The Oaks - this area was covered in Oak trees in times past. This is a family run Farmhouse which received its first guests in 1978. It is Teresa's homeplace and has been the ancestral home of her family since it was built late in the 19th Century. Teresa and Paddy have extended, modernised and refurbished the original homestead - a traditional three roomed stone cottage. - to its present size and decor. As natives of the Glenties locality both Teresa and Paddy are both well placed to impart many gems of local interest to their guests and are both on hand to assist you so that your stay in the Glenties area will be both pleasant and memorable. |
