Ataireachd Ard

In Brora, Sutherland, Highlands, Sutherland

A lovely cottage with sea views from all windows. Watch the sun rise and set from the front garden, enjoy the peace and quiet of the waves lapping against the shore, or the sea birds searching for food as the tide goes out. The fishing River Brora alongside has otter and seal at its mouth. Round the corner is the pretty harbour and just opposite the start of beautiful coastal walks past basking seals, a broch and Dunrobin Castle, all the way to Golspie.
The cottage itself has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 7. The kitchen is modern with all the usual mod cons available - washer, drier, 2 fridges, microwave etc. There are coal fires to enjoy in both living room and dining room - both looking out to sea. There are also night storage heaters, electric heaters and TV and video. There is an enclosed garden to the rear and a large open garden at the front overlooking the sea and beach.
Shops, restaurants and other services are close by, as is the famous Brora golf course. There are 9 golf courses within easy reach of the cottage. There are walks to suit all - short level walks around Brora itself, beautiful woodland walks aroung Golspie and Loch Fleet or more strenuous moorland walks inland. The area is also a birdwatcher's paradise.
Brora is only an hour from Inverness, accessible by road or rail. It is within easy reach both of the north coast and Orkney and of the more remote west coast. It tends to be drier than you might expect, certainly much drier than the west coast and the sunrises and sunsets are just stunning.
