The hotel built on the site of the former Lewis Merthyr Colliery, retains its links with the 'Black Gold' Rhondda coal through the collection of historical pictures displayed around the hotel walls. |

The hotel offers forty-four spacious and tastefully decorated en suite bedrooms. All are equipped with hospitality tray, ironing centre, hair drier, colour television with satellite channels and direct-dial telephone. The hotel offers bedrooms with interconnecting doors for families, and has several larger bedrooms where an extra bed can be accommodated. We are happy to offer a range of packages with champagne, Flowers etc to enhance that special occasion. Please enquire when making your reservation. The hotel reception opens out to a spacious and comfortable lounge bar. Traditional Welsh features and heritage are reflected in the surroundings. A collection of original photographs featuring local scenes and characters adorn the walls, complemented by cosy corners and comfortable furnishings. The hotel has excellent conference and banqueting facilities, catering for small or large meetings, from two up to 250. All conference and banqueting suites are purpose built and have audio visual facilities. They are designed to cater for all types of events. All our banqueting staff are expertly trained and our management team are always on hand to offer you any additional information, advice on menus and wine selection, or any other specific requirements you may have. The Loft Restaurant is not typical of a modern hotel but once again reflects tradition and heritage. The intimate atmosphere, enhanced by the beamed features, provide an ideal setting for that 'Special Occasion' or quiet romantic meal. Many of the timbers originated from an old wharf warehouse on the waterfront of Cardiff docks. The Loft Restaurant offers a wide selection of dishes, using only the freshest of local Welsh produce. The menu offers a superb wide range of modern and traditional cuisine together with many vegetarian dishes. There is a NO SMOKING policy in the Loft Restaurant. The Pulse Health & Leisure Club is open daily from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. and includes an indoor swimming pool with swim resistor machine, a modern fully-equipped gymnasium, sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi, all of which is free to hotel residents. Massage and beauty treatments are available by appointment in the complex. The Pulse Club also has a solarium for which a small charge is made. The Gymnasium features up to date Cross Trainers, Steppers and other Cardio Vascular equipment. Our Pulse Club staff are always on hand to offer advice and help with fitness programmes. |
